Harun and the Swiss

So Harun had more important things to do and left Monaco where he restored order (see www.janjitso.blogspot.com). The tiny old caravan then used as a field commanding post was transferred to Switserland; making it serve for observational purposes as Harun did not want to appear in public and be recognized before he had made his plans. Those Swiss, he said, I would like to know whether they go to church to become wealthy or are grateful for being wealthy and therefore attend religious duties. Well, one of his staff remarked, it is not everywhere the same in this country. The areas with superrich people cannot really be called christian because -he smiled a little bit- they don't distribute the honey. Another companion asked: Oh caliph Harun, will you distinguish between poor and rich when punishing the Swiss for profiting from tax evasion? Where and from whom should I get advise, replied Harun. It is known that money from the wealthy sips to subservent people. To persons who do not join those men and women striving for honest sharing. Sips to egoistic beings, just like their... he paused for a moment....like their financial masters. The caravan was parked on a hill overlooking a motorway; on which lots of iron were dragged to and from in the form of big heavy cars. In swiss youth hostels a cola is more expensive than a liter fuel at the gaz station.

A policeman neared and asked: Do you have permit to put your caravan here? Please show it to me. Harun's driver answered: No, we don't have. Is it a burden to someone having the caravan here for a little time? The officer smiled and raised his arm showing the landscape: Look, what a beautiful sight. A thousand people would like to have their caravan here; or a tent, or a house, a mansion, kind of palace! Indeed, Harun said; we'll move. All right, the policeman concluded; don't hesitate, not stay here longer than an hour anymore. There was a farm with a mini camping in the neighbourhood and the company went there with the tiny old caravan.

Now for a good plan, Harun shouted. "Brussels" is failing to do justice, not having the Swiss pay for their malicious greed, favouring tax evasion; tax that in many countries should be spent to help the poor, those who need support. One said: We don't know the amount of money, have no proper idea about the profits that the Swiss gained unlawfully. A second remarked: Truly unlawfully, for in every civilised state a first principle is to pay tax according the strength of your shoulders. And a third: Not cheating via a pensionfund like in Holland but pay the tax around the year of receiving the income. The second added: In the Netherlands money is transfered via the pensionfund system from the pockets of low income people towards the wealthy. Who don't need it except to satisfy their greed. The first: Why don't you correct the Dutch too, oh caliph Harun? If common people get understanding this stealing by the rich they will welcome you very heartily. Another one: Not so the professors at the universities. They know what is going on but stay silent to their students because they don't want to loose their unjust profiting. Harun said: Now we are in Switserland. We have to deal with the problem here first.

The farmer, owner of the mini camping, came along for some administration and he wondered why so many men sat in that tiny caravan and more stayed outside or were lying in the grass. It was explained to him that a survey was made on swiss wealth and swiss contribution to international taxation. The farmer laughed: Not necessary, he said, we pay already sufficient tax. May be you can make observations where and how this can be reduced. On my land there is not a hill but a mountain of tax burden and even my cows would be pleased with flattening. Cows turn grass into milk and cheese, the caliph knew, but most farmers take the calf away from its mother by pure greed. The wife of the farmer, coming out of her house, heard these words and a little angry she said: And you kill many calfs to eat their meat. That is a sad truth, Harun answered, if one is a vegetarian he can't change it. They drank coffee together and then all went back to their proper business. Harun esteemed that paying the amount of a year swiss national income might suffice to correct the mischief of the swiss banks and from which the whole population had profited. Then he added: We must think of how to distribute all that money.
