picture of a "black hole"

                    Nature,
Your paper published a photo of a black hole. But it is not possible to take a picture of a black hole. Do you really need explanation? A picture is made with incoming light but a black hole is neither a source nor does reflect. The shown emissions come from around the thing and are you aware that then equal distribution will occur so that none black spot can be observed?
We agree that a very big mass is involved. Could this be something superhot and opaque like at the beginning of the universe; a remnant or formed anew? The concept black hole is formed on a factor in the interval formula (not mentioning constants): 1 minus mass divided by the product of r and the square of c. Remember from school that (a-b) equals 1 / (a+b) except for in this case very small square of b. Using this in the formula black holes disappear. In his book The Quantum Theory of Gravitation (2003) Vasily Yanchilin (site top-formula.net) derived a better interval formula. He wrote in the Canadian Journal of Pure and Applied Science about Poincaré, who suggested to use euclidian maths instead of the Riemann by taking length as a variable. (I think his article on transfer of energy from Earth to Moon needs revision). A century ago Einstein took constancy of the speed of electro-magnetic waves as a working hypothesis and on this is based his wrong general theory of relativity. Wrong because it is assumed that the equivalence principle is valid althoug a charge does not radiate in a gravitational field. Wrong because a photon obeys the principle of least action and passing a mass seeks a path "with as big steps (lower frequencies) as possible and a minimum of these". Observed is a route not close to the mass where time runs faster and frequencies are higher.
Everywhere in the universe the clock tells the same time since Creation. There is no real evidence that it all started from a point. A point is a mathematical concept and does not exist in physics because it has no dimensions. It would have been very difficult to prop all physical laws into a point and a beginning with a field should not be excluded. So there is a universal time and forget about trains with high speed through tunnels and muons with longer life due to time dilation. It is the speed of physical processes that differ with varying gravity! If not accepting that time dilation scientists would not lean back but might become active in searching for the true cause, whether muons from space with effective higher mass.... Especially philosophers lean back and receive their high salaries instead of being busy with controll, their task!, of what is going on in astronomy with negative energy, inflation, black holes, accellerated expansion... The latter is measured by supernovae Ia with assumption that c is constant. However when c decreases in time or distance that accelleration becomes zero. Reflect on a formula with energy equal to the product of mass and the gravitational potential of the universe.
Search Yanchilins' book for inconsistencies. (Like a distracted professor he keeps calling the Planck "the constant of Planck" although he argues that it is not a constant, that Planck). So far I did not find argumentation proving the russian scientist is cheating like those with that picture of a black hole. Better stay silent if you cannot prove Yanchilin is wrong? That is not an acceptable attitude in science.
Quantum mechanics came to life after that general theory of relativity was invented. Yanchilin suggests that gravity is a pure quantum mechanical process: With hypothesis that mass reduces the Heisenberg uncertainty there will be less quantum mechancial transitions in the half of a particle nearest to an external mass than in the farthest half (transitions to the other half). Net result is moving of the particle towards the external mass. This explains why gravity is relatively weak and not reversible. This model widens our horizon.
NIST in America claims to have proof that time runs slower near mass as also was deducted from experiments with an atomic clock in planes. That clock produced more ticks than the one on Earth, but not considered was that the second is lasting longer high in the air. Near mass atoms change in the gravitational field and more energy is required for transitions of electrons. This has to be studied further quantitatively and the results should be applied to the experiment Yanchilin proposes: It can p.e. be done on the quiet island of Saba in the Caribean, placing clocks on the beach and on the nearby 700 meter high extinct volcano. After a few weeks with swimming in the blue warm water of the sea the clocks are brought together in order to read the amounts of ticks. This must proof that Einstein was wrong and his general theory outdated, although the special theory of relativity stays valid because according to Yanchilin the square of c is related to the gravitational potential of the universe, which is in all directions the same... at a given time and a given place! but.... Read further about Chaos.
So Nature, dedicating a page to the constructed picture of a black hole, may spend another page on the work of Vasily Yanchilin. May-be he likes to give an interview and can be reached by yanchilin@russia.net or in Hurghada, Egypt, where he lives.
Note that the Nobel prize for accellerated expansion of the universe will have to be withdrawn if c is not constant.
