stabilizing south-east border of the European Union

                                      Amsterdam, july 29 MMX

to the Editor of the Economist,

So often your paper wants to give good advise, but does it regarding "the mess northeast of Egypt"?
Everybody wants to avoid Israel being forced to bomb Iran's nuclear installations and therefore a solid alternative has to be sought. Such is not installing now a Palestinian state since evil persons will have free hands then to continue making terror and conflict, which Teheran likes for mingling in, possibly within a year when its nukes are ready. Rulers there believe in the mahdi, who will be a supermoslim and is to be invited by creating unrest and war.
Hastily present turmoil west of the Jordan should be subdued in order to take away that Iran may use it as pretext for intervention. Sadly enough this cannot be reached by introducing Palestinian independance. Therefore Israel as strongest power has to establish in the whole region good law, order and acceptable education-without-hate. The European Union knows that war would disturb trade, the exchange of oil for food and millions will die if the latter does not reach them. Brussels can leave the fight between liberty and security to the member states except when international organisations want to promote terror. Then already at its border, the eastern shore of the Mediterranean the European Union has to avoid Munich and act: It should deploy its large powerful army to get rid of Hamas, Fatah and Hezbollah. This painful operation -the pain will be limited the more troops are sent- requires new glasses for Cameron.

I propose a Round Table in an large, beautiful Ark on the waters of well reachable Amsterdam for quarreling and fighting political and religious factions. The UNPO, organisation of unrepresented peoples at The Hague has insufficient status. Next to it a big research department may support.
Israel is an old nation, characterized by own territory (although due to foreign agression not boss there during twothousand years), own language, culture, ethical values and good behaviour towards minorities. The Palestinians, for a big part descendants from migrants within the former Turkish empire, considered themselves as belonging to the big Arab, moslim nation. Only recently desire to form an own state came up and this is based on not to be accepted hate. If no population explosion would have been caused the Arab minority already would live peacefully within an Israel from the in winter snow capped northern mountain till a Sinai transformed into a big natural reservate. New metropoles are to be built between Gaza and say Benghazi to house, give work and recreation. Also for egoistic Jews with too many children.
Obama has to change policy and do away contacts with Hamas, Fatah, Hezbollah, whether direct of via via. His lips once promised help for suppressed nations. Such as Tibet, Westpapua, that of Kurds, Basques? Instead of assisting a newcomer to hinder -against international rules- an old, real nation, "drive it into the sea". Present Washington politics encourages extremists. The European Union not only with words but in using its power should stop now, urgently, troublemakers. Whether in future a Palestinian state may be realized can be considered after gradual adjustments. Safety now and tomorrow requires intervention of the European Union to have Israel excert law and justice all over the region. For reality is that nobody thinks such can be trusted to an Arab regime.
