Thailand's king is popular, driving a car himself and visiting hamlets to talk with people.

Which blocks buddhist aspirations even if being a monk for the rest of your life. Best way seems to use the billions for wealth producing investments with then enormous raise of the minimum wage. Such in new cities in better climate. Except raise, thus paying more tax, for persons with many children and their share should be destined to education for all, p.e. how not to expel wild animals from their territory by overpopulation.
Opposed to such bright future for the inhabitants of Thailand are undoubtedly most princes, princesses, other so called nobility and capitalists who like to stay greedy. But who do form only a small, tiny minority.
So Santa Claus need not come from the North Pole but presumably is present already in the country.
